Heartbroken. Praying for you and your family
We have common friends on Facebook (Halvorsens... Carrie and I went to high school together) and I saw a post from her earlier today. My wife just saw her post this evening and read an article about what happened and we both were grief-stricken when we learned what happened. I then came to CB for the first time today and saw your post and just about lost it when I realized it was you and your son.
I too have admired your sig photo and feel like you are a fellow brother/friend/fan.
I cannot imagine what you are going through (as a father of a 10-year-old son and an 8-year-old son). But, I had a work acquaintance from almost 15 years ago that went through a similar situation with the father and their 2-year-old daughter (while the mother was in the front yard gardening). He was a seminary teacher and we attended the funeral and it was one of the most spiritual events of my life. I've felt prompted to reach out to old co-workers to see if anybody has their contact info. The father will know exactly what you are going through and I hope you (and your wife) can find peace and confirmation that the Lord has his plan and his timetable and that as painful as this was... it was part of God's plan for your family and for Austen.
