And what does it matter if he lives on Vegas? That isn't surprising. Aren't there ute fans in Vegas or are the rumors true that there aren't ute fans outside the Wasatch Front? None of that even matters in looking at whether he is a ute or not. As for your sources they must be a lot better than those of SI since in Beneficts own words they spent considerable resources on finding him through all kinds of database searches, etc. the only way you know more than then is if you know his identity.

Not sure karma applies in your scenario since it is a hypothetical. I am not subject to all of the HC myself. I would likely not rat him or anyone else out but wouldn't blame BYU students if they did. Funny how Utes are now implying that BYU students wouldn't rat out their own when they have been mocked by Utes for doing so for years. There are plenty of recent cases where athletes at BYU have been ratted out by their fellow students so not sure karma applies to them in this hypothetical either.

Benedict obviously didn't want to use the name without verifying who he was but calling the person an alleged fan wouldn't have made any difference really.

Before Utes paint Benedict as a homer, read his book. He paints BYU in a negative light concerning the gang rape case in 2004. That hasn't been talked about much but he doesn't hold back from describing in great detail a very negative case about BYU. Much of the information has likely not been heard by many.
