Here's the problem with that theory..
The anonymous CB post claimed that pics were sent to the Tribune and to the University of Utah. The Tribune knows that they did not receive any pics (which they continue to claim). Why would they continue to pursue the matter? Doesn't this anonymous poster lose all credibility at that point? It defies logic that although, the anonymous poster had already been discredited to some extent, that the Tribune ignored that and decided to continue to pursue the claim and fill out a GRAMA request for the Emails at University of Utah's compliance office. They had to have been tipped off by someone. They aren't just chasing this story based on a Cougarboard post. How stupid do they think we are?
