Look I get that everyone wants it to be 100 percent based on on field results, but with a 12 game regular season and more than 12 teams in most conferences, you end up with a bunch of ties and similar resumes. Then you have the issue of teams in different conferences that never play each other and sometimes don't even have any common opponents. At that point it becomes a judgment call and I would rather have that judgement be based in something quantitative rather than the very subjective eye test. BYU is far more likely to benefit from a CFP committee using objective measures to select teams than a committee using name recognition. I'm way more worried about the committee having an SEC/BIG bias than a model.
