I posted last week that my daughter was cut from the HS volleyball team.
There were a lot of tears the first few days. Now she’s moving on and finding herself and is pretty excited about the future and new hobbies…then last night at midnight she gets a message from the coach of the varsity team…

“(My daughter), I'm sorry we didn't select you for a team. You are a wonderful person and it was a painful decision. If you would like to talk about it, please let me know. I would love to talk it over with you if you have some time. I had a few thoughts.”

My daughter responds this afternoon:
“I think it would be helpful for me to understand what happened. I really miss the team.”

Then the coach said responds at 11:30 tonight:
“Ok (my daughter), when would you like to come in?
Would 2:00 tomorrow work? or another time?”

This seems like really bizarre behavior for a varsity coach a week after tryouts. I’m not sure what to make of it. Either she feels extremely guilty for cutting her and wants to justify it. Or she has regrets and wants to invite her to join the team.

Why would a varsity coach do this? What’s CBs guess? It seems so odd and it’s throwing my daughter through another emotional roller coaster.
