How is this getting 👍s? ISU was ranked over BYU. Anyway, why would you want to
forfeit your ability to determine the best teams to represent your conference and put it in the hands of a completely inept committee?

A better conference tiebreaker would have been a metric for non-conference SOR.

I could see going SOR overall but just non conf makes no sense in determining a conf title. Maybe by CFP rank?

It’s assuming all of the same tiebreakers that precede the current in-conference

If conference wants to ensure their *top ranked two teams (like BYU and ASU this year) should have gone by CFP ranking

Has to be CFP ranking. Best chance at getting at least two in every time.

CFP ranking is subjective. You really trust them to pick the best teams? They

BYU was ranked lower than ISU by the committee, presumably because of the Big12s

You want the committee dominated by P2 interests to have a say in the B12 champ?

The committee is also in charge of putting teams in the CFP. That’s their main task. Best way to get our two highest

But you understand the thing that you said was wrong? You said the best two

Sorry. You’re right. Highest ranked teams is what I should have posted above. I’d go 1) head to head, 2) common

Why not let the schools choose?

That invites potential for corruption. Votes can be bought.

If you want the best team you need to do overall SOR, not non-conf SOR
BYUCLA

That is already handled by the preceding tiebreakers.

You are proposing replacing conf SOR with non-conf SOR, no?

1.) The current tiebreaker is not conference SOR. It’s the record of opponents
royal_blue

When all teams have the same record, SOS is the same as SOR.

I agree that it’s close even if it’s not exactly the same, so we can move on

I like it as it is. Conference games should determine winners

If you like the current setup, imagine a scenario where BYU played Colorado with

Hoping a team you scheduled 14 years ago is good enough to help your SOS so you can make the CCG is silly. Current tie

I think your suggestion that the CFP ranking should be used invalidates all

Haha. Maybe the tiebreaker should be the conference picks two best teams equipped to win a playoff game. Which is what
byuTX

The way I feel about it has nothing to do with BYU. It makes sense as it is.

Insert whatever team you want in place of BYU. It’s a hypothetical scenario.
