Sorry to pick on your post, but it drives me crazy that people think this is a fluke.
The design of that pooch kick is for the DB to think it’s a pass and to get him to deflect it or have it bounce off of him. The receiver is looking at the ball and trying to get the defender in position for it to hit him.
It may have been a fluke that it hit his helmet but it was not a fluke that it touched our player first and became a live ball. It’s the entire point of the play. While Coach Leipold has only called it 3 times in his career despite practicing it weekly it has worked 2 out of 3 times.
It’s not a fluke.
