Sorry, but A-Rod is not immune from criticism, the offense did not carry this team to 10 wins, that's laughable. A-Rod has some awesome play designs, there's no denying that. He's also pretty good at sequential play calling. Every OC is going to do things fans don't understand or agree with, but with A-Rod it feels like more than normal. The biggest criticism I have of him is the recruiting under his watch. He's the head of the offense, he has a significant role in whom they target and his ability to close. Jay Hill has been phenomenal, he's stolen kids from Utah, kids we weren't supposed to get. That's not been the case with A-Rod. QB recruiting under A-Rod has been abysmal. Jake Retzlaff is a fighter, but I don't think he meets the standard of starting material at BYU, he's what you expect from a really good back-up because he's a streaky gunslinger. Also, A-Rod failed big time when he hired Funk and that decision has had recruiting repercussions. The lack of a run game is also another point of criticism he deserves.
