Focus on one part of town if you only have one day. And that part definitely
Shld not be Times Square unless you're doing a show.
9/11 Memorial and the Battery then a ride on the East River Ferry from Wall Street up to Greenpoint, LIC, or 36th Street wld be a good one day option if weather is good -
ERF is super cheap and that route takes you under three bridges and gives you a great introductory view of the city.
