Corn Pop Intervention Needed
Been to the city twice. Haven't yet made it to Central Park as it's actually a
pretty big distance away from all the other "main attractions." And it's so ginormous you could probably plan to spend a day just in the park. To give you an idea of the size and scope of Central Park, there are over 25 different softball and baseball fields scattered around the place, and they represent a very small portion of the park. Over 25 ball fields. For good measure, they also tossed in a full blown zoo in a small corner of the park.

Both times we've taken the Staten Island Ferry in. It's free and drops you off at The Battery, which isn't too far from the 9-11 Memorial. It also gives you a great view of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Governor's Island. From there you'll need the subway if you're going ot make it up to the Empire State Building (directly down the street from the famous Macy's), and then you might want to take the subway again to get to Times Square.

Just depends on whether you want to do something (might be too late as most things require tickets and they sell out months in advance) or just see some famous landmarks. I say some as NYC is huge and it's not easy getting from landmark to landmark. The place will wear you out.
