I can see the perceived need for moderation.

I can also see how a belief in the church would influence the direction of that moderation.

But my goodness, the way certain discussions are moderated (including selective enforcement of certain rules, the subjective nature of so many decisions, and the "don't talk about fight club" way that enforcement is handled) colored the way I perceive orthodox believers in positions of authority.
