Actually, it depends on the subreddit of course. I'm
Not on the ex-mormon subreddit.

Also, it would help if we could have open, honest, non-censored, discussions within wards, families, cougarboard, etc. Instead they get shut down and shut out of those categories. Thus forcing the honest doubter and seeker and thinker to places like reddit.

..Concerning your quote about doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith: I do doubt my doubts before I doubt the faith I have in naturalism, humanism, etc;)

Also, if everyone doubted their doubts, no one would listen to the missionaries. They would just stay in whatever belief system they are already in. You love for people to doubt their faith, you just don't want them to doubt your branch of faith.

If we didn't give way to doubt, we would still be practicing polygamy, having a priesthood ban, preaching against birth control, preaching against an older world and evolution, being more strongly against women working outside the home, having a different understanding of the atonement, and on and on. All of those things and many more started with doubting the veracity of those things being actually right/true, which led to the progress and change you enjoy today. Be grateful for the doubters. 🙂
