I feel your pain and frustration.
As parents we want our kids to be successful. However, part of being successful is learning how to rise from disappointments and failures. For myself, I would not say I was a gifted athlete, but tried out for various sports because I enjoyed playing. Fortunately, when I did not make the school teams such as basketball, we had at the time organized Church sports that I enjoyed playing. When I did not make school baseball teams, my Dad got me interested in softball which I found I was much better at and I enjoyed playing in organized city leagues and Church leagues for many years. None of my sons were athletically inclined or gifted. However, one showed interest in tennis, probably from playing the game on Wii Sports. I personally never played or had much interest in tennis. We helped him pursue his interest with private lessons and he became good enough to make the high school team. We enjoyed supporting him and he enjoyed his participation in the sport and team. Another son was interested in basketball, but was not good enough to make the team. He went to the coach with a huge desire to make the team, and asked the coach what could he do to make the team. His coach was honest in his assessment of his skills, but offered him a position as a manager on the team. He accepted and loved participating and practicing with the team. We supported him and showed up to the games, even though he was not playing but was recording statistics for the coach. My sons showed interest and skills in other areas such as music, robotics and esports. The point of all this is help your kids to find something that they can be good at, and support them. If they fail at some things, help them find and pursue other interests. Athletics is not the end all to extracurricular activities.
