CrimWalCoug All-American in practice
Am I old school and out of touch or pretty reasonable?
I co-founded a company with another CBer, and we have one 24 year old hourly contract employee. We’re on a call with him yesterday, and at the end of it he tells us he’s going on an international trip for two weeks at the end of the summer with his wife.

At this point my co-founder and I are both thinking, “No problem. Unplug. Go enjoy your trip, the work will still be here when you get back.” He then proceeds to tell us that two weeks without work would disrupt their income and put a strain on paying some expenses they have, and he would like two weeks of paid time off.

My first thought was, “Hmmm, I can think of one thing you can do to not disrupt your income and strain your expenses. Don’t go on the flippin’ two week international trip!”

Entitlement is a hot button issue for me, and this whole experience just got my grundies in a wad.
