baseball teams are simply rec teams wanting to not get left out. None of it makes sense anymore. Fear of missing out has watered down half the comp schedule. I put a team in comp last fall and this spring that is basically a rec league all-star team and we went .500. Did not expect 30% of the schedule to be on par with rec. But it was. Of the comp teams playing about 20% should probably play comp and 80% should stay in rec. Rec would actually be good and comp would mean something. Comp and club doesn't mean anything in my opinion, other than you don't get left out if you join.
