Club sports is capitalism feeding on the dreams and hopes of parents who think

Paying a bunch of money is going to help their child overcome terrible genetics and become what the parents never could. I’ve spent so much time over the last 5 years watching select basketball parents. It’s insane how many parents try to live vicariously through their children. Parents can be amazingly helpful or amazingly terrible

Yeah that is a problem sometime. Not everyone is insane. If you have a bunch of insane parents then change clubs.

Most club coaches go through training to be certified though. Rec coaches don't.
