Right now, insurance corporations, big pharma, lawyers, and politicians have taken over the industry and gotten in the way of doctors and patients. I think the industry is too far gone at this point.

I grew up near the Mayo Clinic in MN. We would hear stories all the time about royalty flying into MN for treatment because our doctors, tech, and medicine in the US were the best. Now, I see more and more of my friends or acquaintances LEAVING the country for various operations, medicines, treatments, etc because it is 95% cheaper elsewhere with doctors that were trained here in the US. It is so common now that they've called it Medical Tourism.
