I lived in Germany/worked in Luxembourg for 11 years. Saw a number of American ex-pats come and go. Most didn’t
make it beyond 2-3 years. Seems like the adventure was fun at first, but then they got homesick and otherwise just wanted to be back to life as they knew it and familiar surroundings.

The culture and society it changing, though, in some parts of the U.S. Am curious whether it will have the impact of people moving to other countries permanently in greater numbers. If I were looking to escape what some thing American society is evolving into, I wouldn’t be looking at the larger Western European countries for a new place to settle as much as I enjoyed where I was at the time.

Certain countries in Southeast Asia, Central/Eastern Europe, UAE, and Latin America would be where I’d begin my search.

Also very curious to see if there will be a trend of folks renouncing their U.S. citizenship once they get one or more passports in other countries to get out of the U.S. tax net.
