But the D had a chance to WIN the game (without almost any help from the O) and they chose to not lose the game, thinking the offense would wake up at some point and come blazing forward.
That can be a good strategy sometimes. People that refuse to come to grips with the fact that it was not a good strategy against CC (even after the fact) is a little surprising to me.
I can understand someone thinking, "hey, maybe we don't have a very good D, so we have to play super conservative and just limit points and our O is good enough to basically win every game". That's a fine strategy. But it certainly didn't work on that day.
