You didn't answer the question. Is it deceptive? There is no "BYU" either so is
it deceptive to not write the full name?

The point of a resume is to communicate to the interviewer what school they went to. It's clearly articulated when someone writes any of the following:

Brigham Young University, Rexburg, Idaho
BYU-Provo, Provo, Utah
Brigham Young, Laie, HI
U of California, Berkeley, CA
University of Texas - Austin, Austin, TX
University of Wisconsin at Madison
Ohio State University, Columbus, OH (no "The")

None of those are entirely correct, but we can use our powers of deductive reasoning (in particular because we graduated from The University of Brigham Young - Provo). That wasn't even close and we still know what it means!
