I won’t disparage anyone who chooses the 40 hours, or the 80 hours per week, because both types make different kinds of sacrifices. I just assume that in most cases, the 80 hr/week guy is trying to save now to work less later in life.

In this day in age, I tend to think it’s hard to really afford to support a family on one income of 40 hours per week, unless you have a spouse that works, a second job, or are very frugal in your budgeting somehow.
