People act like working 6 days a week is just barely more than 5 days a week. It's the opposite: you have cut your weekend in half. If you lose your Saturdays and your Sundays are for church, then where is your life?
56 hours is the equivalent of 7 8-hour days. You are working non-stop. Yes, you could "fix" that by working longer days, but then you are cutting into your evenings.
What you are losing is your personal time, your time with family, your time to relax, and your time to develop other interests outside of work. You are passing family responsibilities onto your wife and onto your kids.
If you have a church calling, then you really are cutting out yourself and your family.
Another thing that happens with workaholic is they try to solve their personal problems with money. If you work all the time, you have to pay other people to do things for you that you could do yourself. So that extra money is spent replacing the extra time you've lost.
It's your life and your career, so do what makes you happy. I believe that like food, work is necessary for life, but a poor substitute for living.
