Box Seats are legit
My wife and I arrived at the game about an hour before kickoff and were impressed with how full the student section was. We were students last year and would have been with them had we not been invited to sit in the presidents box.
We arrived early and ate dinner with some administrators and church leadership along with members of BYUSA. Elders Perry and Holland were there along with President Uchtdorf and several other members of the 70 (Didier and Edgely included).
Obviously, it was a great night to be in the box seeing as we stayed dry, ate food, socialized, and listened to Greg wrubell on the overhead speakers for the two hour rain delay. Not half bad.
We felt somewhat disconnected from the rest of the stadium because of the thick glass that insulated the sound from coming in. There was still a great deal of excitement in the box after scores. I was a little disappointed during the fight song seeing the apostles not singing or really clapping along. In fact, I was basically alone chanting the fight song after the first score but then I was able to get sister Edgely to join in on the second score. I think the other students and members of BYUSA didn't know if it was appropriate to stand and chant in the presence of apostles. I said to heck with it and started it anyway. I'm an irreverent Mormon if you can't tell.
Anyway, it was a fun night and especially awesome that we stayed dry and watched from the box.
Thanks for the opportunity to brag. I'm not gonna lie, that was one of the best college football experiences I've ever had (2nd only to rushing the field in the 2007 holy war).
