The Aggies are hicks, the Cougars are self-righteous prudes, the Utes couldn't get into BYU or are antagonistic ex-Mormons. I realize that stereotypes exist for a reason, and I'm not getting bent out of shape about this.
But when, for example, the majority of the people in Salt Lake County are non-Mormon (and the significant majority of people in Salt Lake County are not active Mormons), and the majority of people in Salt Lake County aren't heavily tattooed, pierced, Word of Wisdom violators who make being non-Mormon their identity, it's hard to argue that OP's generalization is anything other than confirmation bias.
