All the people like me (which I've found out is actually a large number) who you think are in your first category, when they are not.
Basically, I'm a closeted unbeliever. I'm a Cultural Latter-day Saint in that I live a very LDS lifestyle in keeping the WoW, LoC, attend church, love family life, etc. I think all of that stuff is just common sense. I still lean right politically. I feel most at home around Latter-day Saints. BYU sports helps me and my loved ones keep a great commonality. But in no way (except metaphorically and allegorically) do I think the church is actually true.
I've been surprised to slowly find out over the years, there are actually quite a few people like me on my wife's side of the family. All In utah. All this time, we each assumed the other one was a true believer, too scared and too non-confrontational to say anything. But they were PIMO. Physically In, Mentally Out. There are sooo many members like me on reddit, etc.
