Students that they accepted for undergrad prior to the current holistic admissions that look less at grades and test scores and more at essays. Essays are important for med school, but they are relatively all the same. They need to look at grades, MCAY scores, and then find students to at are similar to the average classic stereotypical BYU student. The stereotypical BYU student has done well at medical school for years and over performs as a group.
