Sure, let's have amateurism with volunteer coaches, bus rides to play other local schools. That would be a just system. However, the quality of the product we are enjoying as BYU fans for the various sports is commensurate with a professional or at least semi-professional experience.'

The type of quality and excellence that causes BYU fans to passionately follow these sports long ago left the realms where amateurism would suffice to make majority of fans happy.

never had legs?? The ruling on Alston sure doesn't seem like it depends on an any earlier precedent of an OBannon ruling. Unless you think the supreme court is highly influenced by public opinion (they certainly are to some extent, but I doubt that much on these issues).
