They are instead of trying to pick up fight and attempting to go after people to prove that their are not part of the church. I have no issue having an adult conversation about their views, unfortunately it is not often like that.
My main point is, if they leave they can have their views, but they should do it and express it in respectful way. They are not attempting to find the truth but focus on the negative and justify themselves leaving to everyone. Definitely not Martin Luther like not politician like, many times they don’t leave for something else.
I Have friends that have been this way. I love them regardless, and would rather focus on the friendship rather than have revolve around them leaving the church and making snide comments (not Martin Luther type). Both sides should be respectful.
I left the state of Utah after college, went to graduate school on the East Coast and lived out of Utah for decades (mainly NYC area). Many people leave their religions, that did not become the focal point in their lives. There is actually a lot more understanding about the church back there as there were so many different religions. I personally think that having so many LDS iin one spot tends to push people that have left against the church and make them have to justify it. On the east coast nobody cares either way.
