I worked with a guy from SEC country--came and took an executive position at our company. Probably 60 years old or so. He was invited up the U tailgate and a game a few years ago.
His take--people his age were doing shots, brew-skis (where they've fixed shot glasses onto a ski and you line up a bunch of people who all tip the ski back at the same time), and other drinking games. He said in SEC country, that is frat boy stuff, whereas the older people like him are tailgating with a beer or maybe even a glass of wine (like at Ole Miss).
When I heard his experience, I thought it was another example of non-LDS Utahns overcompensating. Some of these people aren't just going to drink. They are going to drink hard as if they were in their early 20s.
