It wasn't simple
Byu had to worry about the QB and the RB with an Oline that knew how to work as a unit, which is better than size.
All year, the teams BYU played had a decent QB or decent RB, BYU wasn't used to playing both and didn't know how to defend two good ones.

BYU averaged less than 2 points per drive for their other 9 drives. That ain't getting it done against anyone
