I know many who believe, not just LDS, seem to take a lot of solace, by resorting to belief in something happy happening in the great beyond.
However, don't many people just wish, even if you consider it selfish or self-absorbed, that your loved one stayed with you? HF has everything, and we are poor in comparison to him. When a precious one is taken from us, don't some feel cheated?
Grief counselors sometimes advise that putting in God's corner can often postpone healing, as a human being absolutely needs to go through the stages of grief. I am just ruminating, as many who say, "well, they are better off now," are in a well-meaning way, being insensitive. The ones left behind don't feel better from statements like that, or at least some don't.
