I'm in the same boat

...just paddling in the other direction. Its important for me to teach my kids the principles I value (like charity, love, compassion, etc.) because if they don't learn it from me, they will learn things elsewhere.

When I was a beleiver thought it important to shelter them from outside sources and only rely upon church relayed info. So I get it. And if the church is in fact TRUE, then you should do everything you can to teach the church's side of the story.

Now that I believe the church is not "true" as we say it, I think it is more important to teach them to question and doubt. If my kids grow up full blown Mormons after they having all of the info (all sides of the story), then I will be happy for them. What I don't want is to isolate them and nudge them along a path without them really using their agency.
