It seems that this book and what you took from it (I'm making some admitted assumptions here as I don't know your whole story and haven't read the book) focus on problems that may or may not (but I'll just consent that they really did happen in the horrible way some say) in the past orb within fundamnetalist faction. Personally, issues like the MMM don't bother me even if they happened how some say they did because I know a) what is taught in my church now and it doesn't match with that and b) I know even great people can make mistakes without that meaning a whole church isn't true.
