There are a lot of faith-promoting stories

that I find myself hearing with skepticism. I agree that we shouldn't take everything pro-church and assume it to be true. That causes problems when we find out things weren't true.

There is a big difference between a widely circulated e-mail claiming no members of the church were killed in the Twin Towers (or that there was a mission conference scheduled there that mysteriously got canceled at the last minute or whatever) or something some shmo like me says in sacrament meeting and the actual doctrine of the church.

We'll probably just have to agree to disagree on the priesthood ban and polygamy. I'll admit that I don't understand the basis for either. I also understand that simply because I can't see the reasoning for something, doesn't make it incorrect.
