Demin is the exception not the rule
He gave up the high school experience, and left home as a teenager to focus on basketball. He’s already played professionally. So he knows what that life looks like.

I’m making assumptions based on everything you already know. But, Demin has found a second family in Provo (Hansen’s). He’s dating a KEEPER who will be in Provo next year playing ball. From what I’ve seen he loves everything about the BYU experience. And, Cougar nation LOVES him. I have no idea how much money he’ll be paid to stay, but it will be more than that enough to provide security for life. Sure, it’s not going to be lottery money. But, the NBA will be there whether he goes this year or next. The experience he’s having now has the kind of Value you cannot underwrite. I don’t think going to the NBA is a no-brainer… he doesn’t have an NBA body just yet. He does have an NBA program & staff to develop him just as he would if he were in the D league.
Last week when asked about the BYU experience he said, “I’m living my best life.”
