You will definitely create memories. Been a couple times and always slept great with the right equipment
Just warm clothes and the right sleeping bag and pad is what I’m talking about.
I’m sure heaters and hot water bottles, hand warmers, and all the other things are nice, but they aren’t necessary.
If you have plenty of layers, you will be fine

Most important thing imo is a thick sleeping pad
Cougs'16
Jan 5, 9:31pm
And not a blow up pad. You want something that can insulate which air does not.

Sleep on a cot, if you can with a thick pad beneath you.
Future_Tacos
Jan 5, 9:40pm
A cot will lose more heat then on the ground. Bad idea.
Wife_Apologist
Jan 5, 9:42pm
Except for the ground being ice and frozen…
ochobeeguy
Jan 6, 9:52am
I think it’s warmer to put pads directly on ground/snow. Also use foam pads, not air pads
Bar7h
Jan 5, 9:44pm
Cot alone sucks, cot as part of an insulated system is superior to ground alone as the frozen earth is a heat sink it’s

Jan 5, 10:13pm
That’s only if the ground is warm. Earth is a heat sink. You want a cot with insulated pad on the cot.
Bert609
Jan 5, 11:11pm
The pad you use under you will matter as much as having adequate sleeping bag, etc. Make sure it's thick, or double it

Jan 5, 10:06pm
What do you think about this foam pad?

That looks thick enough for temps down to the teens. If you want an extra measure of protection/insulation for cheap...
