I don’t get trips like this with the young men who are really teenage kids. The

Risk doesn’t seem like it’s worth the reward. Do a high adventure trip in the summer or stay at a ward members cabin in the winter.

Just me. I know most of the time things go fine, but sometimes they don’t when you are dealing with kids and those temps. Especially if one gets wet, and they don’t have proper back up clothes.

That’s only if the ground is warm. Earth is a heat sink. You want a cot with insulated pad on the cot.

The pad you use under you will matter as much as having adequate sleeping bag, etc. Make sure it's thick, or double it
