A simple, low-hanging fix that would improve the CFP is to keep the byes but
seed the CFP quarterfinals based on rankings.
This week, we would have had:
ROSE: #1 Oregon* v. #12 Arizona State*
SUGAR: #2 Georgia* v. #9 Boise State*
FIESTA: #3 Texas^ v. #6 Ohio State^
PEACH: #4 Penn State^ v. #5 Notre Dame^

Looking back, I think we would have had more competitive games where the #1 and #2 teams don't have more difficult matchups than the #3 and #4 teams...and where, except for Texas, the higher-seeded team would probably be favored.
