With a 12 team playoff it mostly won't matter. This stuff can finally be

settled on the field. I get that the AP/coach's polls might affect the at-large playoff selections but if you can't get into the 12 team system when you're in the Big 12, you mostly just didn't earn it. If BYU doesn't win the conference championship it won't be because they were treated unfairly by the AP and/or coaches who vote in the polls.
