A lot of people say to not worry about the polls but I think

It does show irrational bias that will most likely influence the playoff rankings. It shows that people are influenced by brand names and past season performances this far into the season more than the strength of their accomplishments right now.

explain to me why BYU, the third-best strength of record in america, is behind:

• a team that lost to northern illinois
• a team that lost to vanderbilt
• a team that lost to USC
• a team that lost to arkansas
• a team that lost 34-3
