We did this with our eighth grader and it helped a ton. It gave her time to
process what really mattered in life. She had a hard time balancing who she knew she wanted to be with fitting in. It created major internal conflict for her. She wasn’t suicidal but her personality really changed when we pulled her out.

My HCBW was really good at making sure she was still involved in the social scene with good people. She returned to school full time for her freshmen year and was able hold onto who she discovered she was during her worth grade year.

She does have a phone but has no social media on it and can only use it for an hour a day.
