I have the MMU3 on my MK4 (just ordered the MK4s upgrade which I'm interested to see). The nice thing
about the MMU3 is it has less waste than the bambulab and easier to clean up. That said, the setup for the MMU3 is way past the desired work of most people. I would never recommend it except to real nerds.

I see some 3d printers for sale on Prime Day and my son will want one for Christmas. Anyone have any recommendations?

Yep, that is my go to recommendation. I wish I had one. I still have an original Ender 3 with probably $300 of upgrades.

If I wasn't into 3d printing as much as I am I would get Bambulab as well. I have 2 Prusas which are more expensive
