You said, “started day one” and were incorrect, most greats were backups day 1.
Allen and Lamar both started #2 on the depth chart in game 1. So, that makes Allen, Lamar, Mahomes, Rodgers, Love, Tua… the list goes on for current NFL great QBs that started on the bench. If your original argument was that they should play year 1 I would have agreed, but that wasn’t the claim.

Unless you draft a huge project, you absolutely play your rookie. Almost every elite QB in the NFL started day one
