I remember my first one and watching the tech put on a lead lined apron with long gloves and goggles then get the lead lined case out & remove a lead lined syringe with a substance they'd then shoot into my veins. If they needed that much protection to even handle it, how is it a good idea to shoot it into my veins? That was very disconcerting.
You should also know that it often gives the patient diarrhea but they don't always make sure there's a restroom close to the room where you'll be waiting for that stuff to stew throughout their body for about an hour. It can be very sudden onset and you don't have time to go into a hall and find a bathroom especially if you don't know where to look. Very awkward in your breezy gown as you worry about whether you "make it" in time.
Next part is simply the waiting which no one really can help. You know those picture will show slices of your body from head to thigh and will determine your outlook or very life expectancy. The emotional side is really tough to navigate.
