Got in quickly on a last minute cancellation. Dr was a positive presence when going through the colonoscopy and the biopsy records.
He poked and prodded and asked me relevant questions. He went through the different stages of colorectal cancer complete with diagrams to help me and my wife understand what it looks like and how it is treated.
He was going to initially put in an order for CT scan and blood work. This meant that I wouldn't get in until at least Wednesday or Thursday next week. However he looked at my wife for a moment and then bid us follow him and he talked to his office assistant who called over to the urgent care and set up an immediate CT scan and blood work. We drove the two miles down the road and immediately were called in to get blood work done and then immediately brought to the CT scanner room to get that done.
My wife who works in imaging told me that his change of mind from checking off the procedural boxes to helping us get a jump on it most likely took two weeks off the timeline.
While his message that we most likely got this early enough could be anything from his decades long experience as an oncologist to his effort to remain positive for our sakes, it wasn't in vain. My wife and I have had a boost to our spirits throughout the day even though we have yet to know what the official diagnosis will end up being.
They've gone home for the extended weekend, so we expect to get the news on Tuesday afternoon at our surgical consultation.
All of your prayers are making a huge difference. Thank you again for being such a wonderful family. Unlike any other.
