I think Jay is speaking more broadly. Utah hangs their hat on physical play,
which always set them apart from the rest of the P12.

In the B12, that won’t be a differentiator for them anymore. And they will be playing teams regularly who are as physical as they are.

I don’t think anyone is saying Utah’s going to be a cellar dweller in the B12 but I think it’s undebatable that ISU, KSU, Baylor, OSU, WVU, TT, etc are more physical teams than Stanford, Wazzou, Arizona State, Colorado, etc. Even USC was soft and always struggled with Utah because of it.

I know Utes hate when BYU brings up our recent track record against the P12 but the reality is that ever since 2021, when Kalani got us to the same place you are, physicality-wise, we have had similar success against P12 teams as you have. We got smoked by Oregon just like you, and we beat the P12 also-rans just like you. And then we went to the B12 and realized quickly that everybody in the B12 plays that way.
