I do think the Big 12 is generally more physical than the PAC; see linked analysis

The PAC is probably more explosive/fast (which is why the PAC passes much more), but the Big 12 is a lot more physical (lots more rushing).

That isn't to necessarily say one or the other is better...but there's certainly a difference and physical play absolutely can wear a team down.
