Charity Care is a misnomer in many cases. Charity writeoffs are done when the hospital/health system know they are not
Going to get paid for the work. Sometimes it is truly charity, more times it’s because they know they will never get payment. And it is all about the patient breakdown. For those that have any type of resources…they are coming after you.
