as well as the type of physician and probably more importantly the quality of ancillary staff that they can get. Docs with limited options that want to live in Utah will fall into place for Intermountain more so than other systems. And as alluded to above, they get a very well educated solid nursing core, etc.
The well-educated workforce as compared to the other large health systems that are also dealing with a lot more diverse patient population plays a major role in outcomes.
With that said, I do think Intermountain provides good care overall.
The whole "charity care" angle is totally laughable to me though I admittedly don't know where they fall. I haven't found they are easier to work with for patients.
