Rogue One got it right. It’s all about having the right art direction and not
overcomplicating the storylines. The prequels and sequels have failed in both those areas which is why they don’t feel like the originals.
The standalone “story” movies have come much closer to capturing the look and feel of the originals, though Solo was trying too hard in the last quarter of the movie — trying to set up a sequel was a bad idea.
